Advertising Disclosure
How we fund independent journalism, and the lines we don't let advertising cross.
Editorial Independence
Our newsroom operates independently of our advertising department. No advertiser, sponsor, or partner receives editorial preview, approval rights, or influence over which stories we cover or how we cover them. Reporters and editors do not know which companies are advertising on the site at any given time.
Display Advertising
Banner, sidebar, and in-article ad units on this site are served by third-party advertising networks and are always visually distinguished with an "Advertisement" label. We do not control the specific creative content of programmatic ads beyond category-level exclusions (for example, we do not accept advertising that makes unverified medical or admissions-guarantee claims).
Sponsored & Native Content
Occasionally, a card or module in our grid is a paid placement rather than editorial content. These are always labeled "Sponsored Placement" and are visually distinct from our reporting — we do not disguise advertising as an article, and sponsored modules are never included in our reporters' bylined work.
Affiliate & Referral Links
Some articles, particularly resource roundups, may include affiliate links to books, courses, or tools, for which we may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no added cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend — products are selected editorially first, and affiliate links are added afterward where available.
Questions
If you believe a piece of sponsored content was insufficiently labeled, or have a question about a specific advertisement, please tell us via the contact page — we take labeling accuracy seriously and review every report.
